Past, Present & Future
John and Jackie Dwyer purchased a failing bakery in Rugby in 1989 with a rundown retail outlet and a handful of wholesale accounts. John regularly slept under the ovens between producing, baking, packing and delivering to the company’s customers.
After experiencing growth in their wholesale business, the decision to close the retail shop and concentrate efforts on building a successful wholesale bakery was made. A decision that has proved successful over the past twenty years, with the company having to expand four times in 19 years quadrupling its production capacity to keep up with the ever increasing demand for its quality products.
John and Jackie never once baulked at investing in quality equipment and the tireless pursuit of perfection paid dividends when in April 2009 the company was moved “lock-stock and barrel” to a purpose built 8000 square foot factory.
From one delivery van to seven, from a 5 mile radius to customers 50 miles away. From equipment used in the Ark to the most efficient baking equipment on the market, John and Jackie continue to work tirelessly to ensure customer orders are never missed or that quality never falls.
With future plans to include a celebration cake range and new investment in staff and equipment John and Jackie have set their sights firmly on taking the company higher with Efsis and BRC accreditation at the top of the Management “to-do list.” The company still insists that the customer must always take centre stage.
